The ACI Foundation MENA Student Excellence Award will be awarded to graduate students in construction, design, education, or materials programs during the year of the award and interested in a career in practice or education. No internship is required. Applicants must attend a college or university in the Gulf Cooperation Council region (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates), Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, or Tunisia. The ACI Foundation is serving the industry by establishing and distributing awards to high potential students in concrete-related degree programs. Applicants must submit two endorsements. Endorsements are statements of evaluation of the applicant, in terms of potential for growth, character, leadership capacity and career interest. One endorser must be an ACI member (non-student) and the other should be an employer (if possible) or professor. Please visit the scholarship's website for more information. Applicants must be a full-time student, enrolled in a concrete related degree during the award cycle (fall through spring semester of the standard academic year), and be proficient in the English language. Recipients receive a $7,000 USD educational stipend for tuition, residence, books, and materials, plus travel to one North American ACI Concrete Convention, one ACI Middle East Conference, and travel within the Middle East region to obtain ACI certification. Applications open July 1 and close November 1; late applications will not be accepted.
