Albert Scholarships are available to incoming first-year students majoring in engineering. Albert Scholars are members of the University Honors Program. Applicants must be incoming first-year students at UNC Charlotte in a baccalaureate program offered by The William States Lee College of Engineering for the fall term immediately following high school graduation. Applicants must hold an outstanding academic record of consistently advanced coursework, have had prior experiences which reflect ethical leadership and individual development, and demonstrate a commitment to community service. Preference will be given to students with an unweighted HS GPA of 3.50 - 4.00 or weighted HS GPA of 3.80 - 5.00 and SAT of 1320/1600 or ACT of 28/36. Applicants must have demonstrated alignment with the mission and values of the Honors College and the University Honors Program. Two academic letters of recommendation, one of which also addresses the applicant's leadership potential, and two essays required. Award package includes: 4-year scholarship package valued at approximately $21,500 per year; $6,000 summer internship allowance; $2,500 study abroad allowance; participation in the Engineering Leadership Academy; opportunities for research and professional development.
