Beedie Luminaries Grade 12 Scholarship

The SHINE (Soaring Higher IN Education) Scholarship from Beedie Luminaries — also known as the Beedie Luminaries Grade 12 Scholarship — is awarded to graduating high school seniors in British Columbia, Canada, who demonstrate financial need. Students should receive endorsement (a letter of reference) from a secondary school and a community organization. Employees of Beedie and their dependents are **not** eligible to apply. Students who plan to attend a public trade school, college, or university in British Columbia are welcome to apply. The SHINE scholarship helps remove financial barriers to higher education and provides wrap-around support for resilient high-school graduates. Awards are up to $44,000 per student for a 4-year undergraduate degree, or up to $22,000 per student for a 2-year college diploma/certificate, plus a Student Success Program, Peer Support Groups, access to mentors, and summer paid internship opportunities. Eligibility requirements: applicants must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a protected person in Canada (international students are not eligible), residing in British Columbia; currently be in Grade 12 with a minimum grade average of 75% in the most recently completed school year; plan to be a full-time student; apply to one of the eligible post-secondary institutions; demonstrate financial adversity; and receive a letter of reference from their secondary school.
