DeadlineDescription
The Catalyst Scholarship is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides financial support for students who demonstrate academic promise and aspire to attend college. The Catalyst Scholarship is open to high school sophomores and juniors who are planning to pursue a bachelor's degree. Students who have experienced personal or economic hardship are encouraged to apply. Recipients will be paired with a mentor during high school to receive college prep support, and will continue to receive financial aid for their post-secondary education. Catalyst scholars receive financial and mentoring support to help achieve their goals: $5,000 per year for educational expenses while scholars complete their high school degree (maximum of 2 academic years), which can include funding for tutoring, standardized test preparation, internet access, and computing equipment; and $10,000 per year once scholars enroll in a bachelor's degree program (maximum of 4 academic years). Scholars will be paired with a mentor to help support their academic, social, and intellectual growth, and the program also provides help with college counseling, applications, and finding other sources of financial aid.
