The Foundation 649 Scholarship provides scholarships to Asian American or Pacific Islander applicants pursuing a degree at a college or university as a full-time student. High school seniors who will be college freshmen or community college transfer students in the fall with a record of involvement and interest in AAPI communities, issues, or causes are welcome to apply. The 2026 Foundation 649 Scholarship is a grant of $4,000 over the course of 4 years that can be applied to college tuition and expenses. To maintain eligibility each year, there will be a brief check-in and renewal process at the end of each school year. The application deadline is March 1, 2026. Five recipients will be selected; 10 entrants will be selected as finalists for video call interviews by March 31, 2026, and recipients are announced by mid-April 2026. Applicants must be degree-seeking, full-time students enrolling in a U.S. accredited university in Fall 2026 as a Freshman or transferring from a community college; identify as Asian American / Pacific Islander; have a track record of involvement and interest in AAPI communities, issues, or causes; demonstrate financial need; and be a US citizen, resident, or foreign national (undocumented students are also welcome to apply). The application consists of a 1-5 minute video submission responding to one of three prompts; applicants should also provide the FAFSA SAI (student aid index) or substitute documentation.
