$1,500
Award AmountMay 30, 2027
DeadlineDescription
The Islamic Society of North America is pleased to have been selected by Dr. Hamid Sheikh to host a scholarship endowment in Islamic Studies and/ or Journalism in the name of his mother Hajja Razia Sharif Sheikh. As a native of Pakistan, Hajja Razia was schooled traditionally at home, and held a strong belief in the value of formal education, encouraging each of her children to pursue college studies. Applicants must be Muslim students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents enrolled in an accredited U.S. college or university studying Islamic Studies or Journalism. Every year, the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) awards several need-based scholarships to students for their college studies. The awards are based on academic performance, community development work, and other similar factors. The online application process is run through Award Spring, and the ISNA Scholarships Committee makes the final selections. Applicants must be actively engaged in the community development work.
