IHLA Educational Foundation Scholarship Program

Since 1992, IHLAEF has provided scholarship assistance to deserving Illinois students who are pursuing hospitality management degrees from accredited colleges and universities in Illinois or throughout the country, awarding over $650,000 since its inception. Scholarship awards begin at $1,000 per academic year with applications accepted in the spring, and awarded for the start of fall classes.Eligibility• Permanent resident of Illinois• US Citizen or Permanent Resident• Current undergraduate student enrolled full-time or a high school senior enrolling in an accredited college or university in the coming fall• Majoring or planning to major in hotel and/or hospitalityApplication RequirementsIn addition to completing the application, you must also submit: a list of extracurricular activities and accomplishments within the past two years (such as school, community, and charitable activities); a recent transcript (for high school applicants, the most recent high school or GED transcript including GPA); a recommendation letter from an education professional, current or former employer or industry professional; and a typed essay outlining your career goals in the hotel and/or hospitality industry.
