Indiana University Herbert Presidential Scholarship

The Adam W. Herbert Presidential Scholars Program (HPS) gives top-achieving high school graduates in Indiana a head start on reaching their college goals with a four-year renewable scholarship to attend IU Bloomington, IU Indianapolis, or any regional campus. Funded by the Lilly Endowment, Inc., the program welcomes a minimum of 30 incoming Indiana University freshmen every year. Scholarship Details • Four-year renewable scholarship for top-achieving Indiana high school graduates. • Available across all seven IU campuses. • Supports a minimum of 30 incoming Indiana University freshmen annually. • Scholarship renewal dependant upon student maintaining eligibility. Eligibility Criteria • High school senior • Must be applying for admission to one of the following: IU Bloomington IU East IU Kokomo IU Indianapolis IU Northwest IU South Bend IU Southeast • IU Bloomington • IU East • IU Kokomo • IU Indianapolis • IU Northwest • IU South Bend • IU Southeast • Preference is given to students who apply early, with a recommended application deadline of November 1 during the student's senior year of high school. Application Process 1. Apply for admission to Indiana University. 2. Submit your admissions application by November 1st. 3. The campus you apply to will nominate candidates for the Herbert Presidential Scholars Program based on the information provided in your admissions application. 4. If selected, the scholarship will be renewable for four years, depending on the campus and continued eligibility. In addition to receiving a four-year scholarship, Herbert Presidential Scholars are provided the following important resources to set them up for a successful college experience at IU: • Study abroad experience funding • Campus-specific resource access • Special opportunities to interact with IU senior leadership and distinguished visitors Herbert Presidential Scholars are a special group of scholars at Indiana University. Their outstanding academic records have already established them as top students in their high schools. In addition, they have strong leadership skills through school and community activities. Consideration for the program also is given to candidates who have overcome personal challenges or other obstacles and who show great potential and motivation to succeed and lead. Candidates for the program must be Indiana residents entering their freshman year of college.
