JMF Memorial Scholarship

The Joseph M. Fannell Memorial Foundation honors the legacy of Joseph M. Fannell by supporting young Black/African-American students with a passion for the creative and performing arts. This scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate artistic commitment, personal excellence, and alignment with the foundation’s mission. One student will receive a $3,000 scholarship, to be awarded at Joe’s Café in Charlotte, North Carolina, on October 18th. Scholarship Details • One scholarship award of $3,000 • Scholarship recipient will be recognized at Joe’s Café in Charlotte, NC, on October 18th • Designed to support students pursuing careers in the creative or performing arts • Applications must be submitted by April 25th Eligibility Criteria • Applicant must be Black/African-American and no older than 26 years • Must be a graduating high school senior or a current student in good standing at an accredited U.S. college or university • Demonstrated commitment to the creative or performing arts • Must embody the values and mission of the Joseph M. Fannell Memorial Foundation Required Documentation • Proof of enrollment at a college or university • Current high school or college transcript • Letter of good standing from a college/university (if applicable) • One letter of recommendation • Résumé Application Process 1. Prepare all required documents and save them in PDF format. 2. Write an essay of no more than 1,000 words demonstrating your commitment to the arts and how you align with the foundation’s mission. 3. Email your complete application package to us with the subject line “JMF Memorial Scholarship Application – YOUR NAME.” 4. Ensure submission is completed by April 25th.
