Each year, the Palo Alto Foundation Medical Group (PAFMG) awards Pre-Med Scholarships to local high school seniors who will attend a four-year college and plan to pursue careers as doctors. The scholarship was started by Richard Babb, M.D., who was a gastroenterologist at PAMF’s Palo Alto Clinic.Scholarship Details• Annual scholarships up to $30,000, distributed over five years.• Intended for students entering a four-year college with plans to pursue a medical doctor career.• Aimed at supporting educational endeavors through undergraduate studies and the first year of medical school.Eligibility Criteria• Must reside in Alameda, Contra Costa, San Mateo, Santa Clara, or Santa Cruz counties.• Anticipate a career as a medical doctor and plan to take pre-medicine courses.• Minimum 3.5 GPA and demonstrate financial need.• Completion of the FAFSA is required.Application Process1.
