Robert T. Nahas Scholarship

Robert T. Nahas Scholarship provides financial assistance to high school seniors in Alameda County, California who have participated in sports and plan to attend college in any state. This program is open to seniors graduating from public or private high schools in Alameda County, California who have a record of involvement in community service for at least 2 years, have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and have participated in a competitive sports program for at least 2 years. Applicants must be planning to attend an accredited 4year college or university in any state. They must be nativeborn U.S. citizens. Males and females are considered separately. Financial need is not considered in the selection process. Each of the four awards are $26,000 with $6,500 paid annually. They are presented to two male and two female graduating students who have been accepted by an accredited four-year college or university. Criteria include a 3.0 minimum grade point average, a record of community service and participation in the school's competitive sports program. Applicant must have proof of admission to a four year accredited college. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen. Applicant must remain in good standing academically in order to maintain scholarship eligibility and must be working toward and making progress at obtaining a baccalaureate degree. Please include Student Aid Report Summary from Federal Student Aid Program (or equivalent financial information). If you are selected as a finalist for the scholarship awards, it is required that you appear for a brief interview before the Scholarship Selection Committee in late May/June.
