The SILA Foundation is proud to offer the availability of ten $2000.00 scholarships to students focused on careers in the insurance and securities industry for use at any accredited post-secondary college or university within the continental United States. Post-graduate studies apply. Students must be enrolled in one of the following disciplines: Insurance/Compliance/Risk Management, Economics, Financial Advisor/Financial Planner/Broker/Stock Trader, Finance/Accounting/Actuarial Science, General Business, Business Administration, Business Information, Business/Management Information Systems, Law/Paralegal, and/or Information Technology. Applicants must be enrolled in a minimum of twelve credit hours or be employed part-time and enrolled in a minimum of nine credit hours OR be employed full-time and enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours at an accredited post-secondary school. Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or permanent residents and have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Applications are accepted from January 1 to March 2 in 2026. Scholarships are awarded for the upcoming school year. Required materials include a completed and electronically signed SILA Foundation Scholarship Application, a copy of a scholastic transcript that proves the academic requirement and supports line-of-study (high school graduating seniors should provide a copy of your high school transcript), and a letter of reference. An employment verification letter is required only if applying for consideration as a full-time employee. Recipients are awarded based on the substance and value of the application information provided. Applications are evaluated and approved by the SILA Foundation. If chosen as a scholarship recipient, proof of citizenship or permanent residency is required (i.e. copy of US Passport, or birth certificate, or state issued driver's license, or USCIS Permanent Resident Card). Award funds will be sent directly to schools in September. The purpose of the SILA Foundation is to provide an educational forum for the public. Educational content will cover Financial Services, specifically Securities and/or Insurance, and its purpose will be to develop and/or improve individuals' capabilities regarding Financial Services. Activities may include educational materials, courses, public discussion groups, forums, panels, lectures, personal career development, mentoring, job training, job fairs, or other programs as determined by the SILA Foundation Board of Trustees.
