The SVC Foundation is dedicated to developing future leaders in vacuum coating technology. We support the education and scientific activities of both students and those working in this field. There are three different opportunities available: Academic Scholarships, Industry Scholarships, and Student Travel Sponsorship. Scholarship Details • Three distinct opportunities: Academic Scholarships, Industry Scholarships, and Student Travel Sponsorships • Academic Scholarships: Typically up to $5,000; supports tuition, books, fees, and travel to conferences • Industry Scholarships: Typically $2,500; supports professional development, classes, books, fees, and conference travel • Student Travel Sponsorships: Covers full travel and registration to attend and present at SVC TechCon • Awards and amounts may vary based on funding availability and application quality Eligibility Criteria • Academic Scholarship: Must be a full-time student at an accredited technical, vocational, two-year, undergraduate, or graduate school • Industry Scholarship: Must be currently employed in a vacuum coating-related industry (not open to current students) • Student Travel Sponsorship: Must be selected to present a technical paper at the SVC TechCon and submit a manuscript for proceedings • Preference given to applicants in fields related to vacuum coating such as engineering, physics, or materials science Application Process 1. Determine which of the three scholarship opportunities (Academic, Industry, or Student Travel) is right for you 2. Visit the SVC Foundation website or the SVC Student Sponsorship Program page to access the appropriate application 3. Prepare and submit all required documents, including transcripts, resume, enrollment or employment verification, and statements of interest 4. For Student Travel Sponsorships, ensure you are accepted to present at TechCon and prepare a manuscript 5. Submit your completed application by the posted deadline You are welcome to apply for multiple scholarships when eligible and even to reapply for a scholarship more than once. In addition, any number of students from a single institution may apply. However, the SVC Foundation reserves the right to base selections, in part, on achieving diversity among scholarship recipients.
