Tampa Bay Times Summer Intern Scholarship

The Tampa Bay Times Summer Intern Scholarship offers summer internships to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing a degree in journalism or related fields. Students who plan to pursue a career in the newspaper industry are encouraged to apply. The program runs for 10 weeks, with the 2026 program kicking off Monday, June 8. Interns receive $725 for a 40-hour week. Interns must have an updated laptop and a reliable vehicle; reporting interns must have a valid driver's license. The Times does not provide housing. Interns may elect a hybrid schedule. Applications require a one-page resume (including three references), a cover letter, and examples of your best work (clips). Applicants may apply for up to two roles. The deadline to apply is November 1 at 5 p.m. EDT, with applicants notified by early January. Positions are available in news reporting, breaking news/sports hybrid, data reporting, newsletters producer, and photographer roles.
