The Appalachian Excellence Scholarship (AES) for Transfer Students

The Appalachian Excellence Scholarship (AES) for Transfer Students is available to incoming transfer students at Appalachian State University who demonstrate high academic merit and potential for success. Eligible students must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate degree program, have at least 24 transferable credit hours, and be seeking their first bachelor's degree. Recipients are selected based on their application for admission. The Appalachian Excellence Scholarship (AES) for Transfer Students currently supports approximately 150 new transfer students each Fall who demonstrate high merit and the ability to succeed; 25 of the 150 scholarships are awarded to students enrolled in the Aspire Appalachian pathway program. It is a one-time $1,000 scholarship, awarded at $500 per semester for up to two consecutive semesters (one year), and is subject to available funding.
