University of Dallas Art Departmental Scholarship

The Art Departmental Scholarship is available to high school seniors and transfer students. The award amount is $1,000 - $5,000 per year. Departmental scholarships are applied to tuition, and a departmental scholarship may not be added on top of a full-tuition scholarship. Although many applicants may be qualified in multiple subject areas, each student may apply for up to two departmental scholarship awards but may only receive one. Students who have applied to UDallas with an interest in studying Art may compete for the award. Students are not necessarily required to major in Art to receive or maintain the scholarship. Applicants may either submit no more than 20 digital images (72 dpi resolution, largest dimension should be a maximum of 1000 pixels) with a list of images as a .doc file (including thumbnail of image, title, date, size, and medium description), or a short essay (400-600 words) analyzing a work of art, preferably one viewed in person. Please include an image of the chosen work with your essay. The application is available August 1, and the deadline to apply is December 1. The last day to interview (in person or online) is December 15. To apply, you must first apply for admission to the University of Dallas, then complete the Art Departmental Scholarship Application via the applicant status portal, and attach supplemental material to the online application or email to admissions@udallas.edu. The scholarship is renewable annually for four consecutive school years, dependent upon fulfilling general scholarship renewal criteria and enrolling in and successfully completing a 2-credit or 3-credit studio art or art history course each semester (courses may not be repeated).
