Washington Thoroughbred Foundation Scholarship provides financial assistance to residents of Washington and students attending college in the state who are preparing for a career in the equine industry. This program is open to undergraduate students who are residents of Washington or attending a college or university in the state to prepare for a career in the equine industry. Fields of study may include (but are not limited to) equine science, preveterinary medicine (equine practice only), equine business management, racetrack management, pasture management as it relates to horse farms, equine or racetrack marketing and/or communications, or other related fields. They must have a GPA of 2.85 or higher and a household income of less than $75,000. Up to $5,000 per year; Deadline 5/8/2026. The Washington Thoroughbred Foundation Scholarship is available to a student attending a college or university in Washington state, pursuing a career in pre-veterinary medicine (equine emphasis) equine science, racetrack management, equine business or pasture management and equine marketing and/or communications as it pertains to racetracks, horse farms, and other related fields. Applicants must have at least a 2.85 GPA and an annual household income of less than $75,000 or be financially independent from parents. Application materials include signed letters of recommendation, current official transcript, Student Aid Report (SAR) from filing the FAFSA, and financial aid award letter(s) (including other scholarship awards), if applicable.
