The Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo Equine IQ Contest is open to students between 8 and 18 years of age students from Texas who demonstrate outstanding knowledge of equine science in a contest held as part of the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. The contest is conducted by the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo and the Texas A&M University Department of Animal Science. $40,000 in scholarships is awarded to the top five placing students in the Senior division (ages 14-18). Three age divisions compete: Junior (ages 8-10), Intermediate (ages 11-13), and Senior (ages 14-18). The 2026 contest was held on January 19, 2026. Open to Texas youth currently enrolled and attending public, private, or homeschool elementary or secondary schools.
