Description

The McLaughlin Doty Foundation Scholarship program is available to graduating seniors attending Center Point, Harper, Ingram Tom Moore, Our Lady of the Hills, or Tivy high schools in Texas. Homeschool students residing in Kerr County will also be considered. Students who are seeing a professional certification, associate, or bachelor's degree are welcome to apply. The McLaughlin Doty Foundation scholarship was established in 2011 to assist students who need financial assistance in pursuing their educational goals. The scholarship award is for up to $7,500 per school year per recipient and is renewable each year for up to 4 years (for a maximum total of $30,000). The application process generally opens in December, and completed applications are due in March. The amount awarded will vary depending on the applicant's needs and the type of degree or program the applicant is pursuing. An applicant must be a senior graduating from one of the following schools: Tivy High School, Ingram Tom Moore High School, Center Point High School, Harper High School, Hill Country High School, or Our Lady of the Hills High School. Applications from students living in Kerr County and graduating from an accredited home school program will also be considered. This application is a one-time process to be awarded throughout the applicant's undergraduate college education. Students awarded a scholarship will be expected to attend an accredited program on a full-time basis (this includes a college, university, community college, technical school, trade school, or school for the arts), maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA, be an asset to their school and community, maintain at least part-time employment while receiving the scholarship, and submit progress reports to the Foundation twice a year.
