University of Dallas French Departmental Scholarship
$5,000
Award AmountDec 15
DeadlineDescription
The French Departmental Scholarship is available to high school seniors and transfer students. Although many applicants may be qualified in multiple subject areas, each student may only apply for one departmental scholarship award. Students must submit a letter of recommendation from their high school or college French teacher. Once they have completed their application, they will be instructed on how to schedule an on-campus interview with the French Department. Please visit the scholarship's website for more information. The scholarship amount is $1,000 to $5,000 per year and is applied to tuition (cannot be added on top of a full-tuition scholarship). Applications open August 1 with a deadline to apply of December 1; the last day to interview (in person or online) is December 15. Students who have applied to UDallas with an interest in studying French may compete for the award; students are not necessarily required to major in French to receive or maintain the scholarship. The award is renewable annually for four consecutive school years, contingent on academic performance and the following criteria: fulfill general scholarship renewal criteria, declare and complete a concentration in French, and help organize at least one extracurricular activity per semester of interest to students of French. Students enrolled in their third year of high school French or those who have completed the equivalent level of study are encouraged to apply.
